Camps, sleepovers, and special events are some of the most exciting parts of Scouting. They give young people the chance to try new things, build independence, and experience adventure in a safe, supportive environment.
Depending on the section, camps may include:
Squirrels & Beavers: one‑night sleepovers or indoor camps
Cubs: weekend camps with outdoor activities
Scouts: longer camps, expedition‑style activities, and more advanced skills
Camps are carefully planned and run by trained leaders, with full risk assessments and safeguarding procedures in place.
Camps help build:
Confidence and resilience
Teamwork and leadership
Practical outdoor skills
Independence and responsibility
A sense of achievement
For many young people, camp is the highlight of their Scouting year.
Throughout the year, we also take part in:
District and county events
Parades and community celebrations
Fundraising activities
Skills days and activity weekends
Group fun days and family events
These events bring sections together and help young people feel part of the wider Scouting community.
