Welcome to 1st Shifnal Scout Group, part of the worldwide Scouting movement that helps young people gain skills for life through fun, adventure, and challenge. We’re based at the Shifnal Scout & Guide HQ on Curriers Lane and we provide Scouting for children and young people across the town and surrounding area.
We run four thriving sections - Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts - offering age‑appropriate activities that build confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Whether it’s learning new skills, exploring the outdoors, taking part in community events, or simply making friends, there’s always something exciting happening at 1st Shifnal.
Adventure every week
From crafts and games to hikes, cooking, pioneering, and problem‑solving, our programme is designed to be active, inclusive, and full of variety.
Skills for Life
Young people learn practical skills, leadership, teamwork, and independence - all while having fun.
A welcoming community
We’re a volunteer‑run group supported by parents, leaders, and the wider Shifnal community. New families and volunteers are always welcome.
A safe, supportive environment
All our leaders are DBS‑checked and follow The Scouts’ national safeguarding and safety policies to ensure every young person can take part confidently.
We offer places for children aged 4 to 14, across four sections:
Squirrels (4–6)
Beavers (6–8)
Cubs (8–10½)
Scouts (10½–14)
If you’d like to add your child to the waiting list, please visit our Join Us page and complete the enquiry form.
